Lu Aye is an Associate Professor in the Department of Infrastructure Engineering at The University of Melbourne.

A/Prof. Aye obtained his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering at the Rangoon Institute of Technology and Graduate Certificate in Computing, at the Rangoon Institute of Computer Science. He received his Masters of Engineering Science (Mechanical), PhD (Advanced Energy Systems) and Graduate Certificate in University Teaching at the University of Melbourne.

A/Prof. Aye has an international collaboration in Exchange programs, Research, Technical Assistance/ Training with the Chiang Mai Univeristy, Thailand. 

A/Prof. Aye (Member of the IIR Commission E2), was the Chairperson for HVAC Best Practice Conference 2008, held on September 18 – 19, 2008 in Melbourne.
The main aim of this Conference was to provide a forum for the dissemination and discussion of topics relevant to new knowledge in the following fields:
• Solar air conditioning and heating of buildings
• Comfort and indoor environment quality in energy efficient buildings
• Energy efficient building integration 

He is also a member of the University of Melbourne Energy Institute Energy Efficiency and Smart Grids research groups.
